SARATOGA RACE COURSE, MONDAY AUGUST 24, 2009:

Oh how I "heart" The Spa!!

Last night's rain made my dear training track a bit soggy for the ol' boss' taste, so my pony Dakota and I led my assistant trainer Scott Blasi and exercise rider Dominic Terry on a little road trip over to the main track. We were like the pied pipers of the press and paparazzi, all parading through the barns from the Oklahoma side to the track!

It was still muddy across the road, but I like to think I shimmered through it - breezing six furlongs in 1:11.84. I liked it over there - and it's a good thing, since right after we returned to the barn, Steve Asmussen and Barbara announced that I would be making my next start here at The Spa - not just against the boys, but against older men in The Woodward Stakes!

We've broken some dusty old rules already this year, but the Woodward will be quite the challenge - no filly or mare has EVER won this race. And to give you an idea of the kind of company it keeps, remember that last year's winner was my ultimate hero and boy-crush...Curlin.

Kensei, my friend and partner in crime, worked this morning, and WOW, is he ever looking like a monster! Powering on after his fantastic win in the Jim Dandy on opening weekend - just a day before my Haskell romp - Kensei would like to humbly request your attention this coming weekend when he runs in the $1 million Shadwell Travers Stakes, also known as the "Midsummer Derby" due to its role as showcase of some of the best three-year-old talent in racing.

Oh what a way for this Saratoga summer to come to a close!

As always, I feel so very honored to have you all cheering Kensei and I as we run our hearts out, on foggy mornings and sunny afternoons and I'm especially filled with pride knowing that I can be a role model for young ladies everywhere.

When Dakota and I were walking back to the barn this morning after my invigorating workout, an exercise rider leaned down to the young filly she was riding and pointed to me, saying, "See, that's what you want to be when you grow up."

I promise to work to set the best example I can - in racing and competition, of course, but most of all, in heart - because, at the end of the road, that's what truly matters. None of us will be perfect every day, and maybe that little filly won't win every race this year (I sure didn't when I was just two years old!), but what's important is that we hold those dreams as high as we can, and to always let our hearts sing...no matter what.

And with that, this filly promises to give it her every all when she goes toe-to-toe with the men on September 5th - and to look Vogue-glam every step of the way!

Peppermint kisses and best wishes to all!
